New Moon Collage Art
May 2025. I am repositioning this post from the “portfolio” page to the “blog” page. after working with each format, I really like the ease of blog postings best. Thank you for coming along with me as I slowly figure out how this new website works.
As the new moon cycles I practice something known as the creative subconcious mind process and create a collage for my journal. In 2024 the collages were 5x5 in size. Many were stitched and or bordered with washi tape.
2025’s collages will be 4x6 in size.
i like to say that I am a prolific maker. some years ago I felt buried alive in the volume of collage that i had made. While it was an admirable challenge to collage daily. Making a collage a day = 365 collages in one year. Do that for several years and that’s well over 1000 pieces of art. It became overwhelming to me. It made me wonder what to do with all of them.
I have since put a boundary on journal work. I make a collage for each new moon. and I collage when I teach my seasonal collage with me sessions. 16 collages per year is definitely less than 365!
